MY FAVOURITE STORY BOOK
It is Madol Doova, a famous novel written by Martin Wickramasinghe. There are two main characters named Upali and Jinna. Upali’s mother passed away when he was seven years old. After that, his father married again. But the stepmother did not give love to Upali. This made him a stubborn boy.
Upali became the leader of a boy gang. They did many bad things and often got into trouble. One day, Upali had enough and sneaked out of the house with Jinna.
They went to Madol Doova. A farmer named Podigamarala helped them a lot. They planted crops on the island, made a fishing rod, caught fish, sold them, and earned money.After some time, they became hardworking and kind boys. They also found a new friend.
Later, Upali’s father became sick. Upali went to meet his family and saw his father. They were very happy to see him. But the next day, his father passed away.At the end, Upali told his stepmother that he was earning money and going back to live in Madol Doova.It is an enjoyable story about children like us.
