SHORT REVIEW OF THE BOOK BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
“Beauty and the Beast” is a fairy tale written by the French novelist Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve and published anonymously in 1740 in La Jeune Américaine et les contes marins (The Young American and Marine Tales).
“Beauty and the Beast” is a popular children’s story. The two main characters are a girl named Beauty and a fierce, inhuman creature named Beast .
Beauty is the sixty-year-old and charming daughter of the family. Although Beast looks fierce, his heart is not evil. Beauty sees his good qualities when she lives with him. In the end, Beast’s mind and heart are shown to be good.
This story teaches us that true beauty lies within a person’s inner qualities . We can learn from this that, as opposed to appearance, the humanity of the heart and a calm mind are very important.
