BYD Yangwang U9
- The BYD Yangwang U9 Xtreme is an exclusive, track – focused electric hypercar created to demonstrate the highest performance capabilities of BYD’s engineering. Limited to just 30 units worldwide, it uses an advanced 1200 – volt ultra – high – voltage platform paired with four ultra – high – speed electric motors, each producing 555 kW. Together, these motors deliver an incredible 2220 kW of power, which is close to 3000 horsepower, allowing the U9 Xtreme to reach levels of performance never before seen in an electric vehicle. This engineering masterpiece achieved a record – braking top speed 496.22 km/h during testing in Germany, placing it among the fastest production cars in history. It also became the first electric hypercar to complete the Nurburgring Nordschleife in under seven minutes, posting an impressive lap time of 6:59:157. To withstand such extreme performance, the U9 Xtreme uses a high – discharge Blade Battery with dual – layer cooling and an upgraded DiSus – X suspension system tuned specifically for high – speed stability. Its titanium – alloy carbon – ceramic brakes, carbon – fiber monocoque structure, and rapid torque – vectoring system further ensure safety, control, and aerodynamic balance at unprecedented speeds.
- The design of the BYD Yangwang U9 Xtreme is centered on aerodynamics, stability, and precision, giving it the characteristics required to perform at speeds approaching 500 km/h. The exterior features a carbon – fiber front splinter, a dual – channel hood to reduce lift, a large swan – neck rear wing for downforce, a double – layer diffuser, and an advanced airflow structure around the rear glass area. These elements work together to create exceptional grip and stability on both straights and corners. The car rides on GitiSport e – GTR2 PRO semi – slick tires developed specifically to handle its extreme performance demands. Inside, the cabin is designed with a race – ready layout that includes a full digital cockpit, a vertical touchscreen, carbon – fiber bucket seats, and Alcantara materials to reduce weight and enhance driver focus. Although BYD has not confirmed the exact price of the U9 Xtreme, the standard Yangwang U9 already starts at ¥1.8 million (US$252,630), meaning the Xtreme model will cost significantly more due to its exclusivity and engineering. Overall, the U9 Xtreme proves that BYD can compete with – and even surpass – tradition hypercar brands.
